Should I engrave an iPod for my boyfriend?

I’m getting my boyfriend an iPod nano for his 21st birthday. I’m fiercely debating on whether or not I should engrave a message into it.

Would you be bothered if you got an ipod with writing on the back? Get sick of it, etc?

I was going to go with
“Happy 21st Birthday
Love, Amy”

Any other ideas or opinions on this?
We’ve been together for 4 years I think we are pretty solid =)
